As a former
Municipal Director of Planning and Development, he was privy
to direct and detailed interactions with senior municipal
and provincial political leaders, government staff, agencies,
special interest and community groups, lobbyists and a variety
of private industries. This gave him a distinct appreciation
of how government and the land development approval process
works and how to be successful within it. As a former Vice President
of one of the largest land development firms in Halifax
Regional Municipality (HRM), he faced daily the
dynamics and challenges of the many complex business
decisions required to run a land development firm.
As a management, land development and real estate
consultant he has direct experience in utilizing a
company's resources or outside experts to leverage
optimum results.
Finally, as an entrepreneur who founded, owns and
runs three businesses known as Caohmin Consulting,
Pinky
Skoopmore’s and ‘The Riles Real Estate Group’,
Kevin is known for the ability to think outside the
box and be creative in solving his clients
challenges. Currently Kevin has offices in Toronto
and Halifax.
He is a former graduate of Dalhousie University and the Nova
Scotia College of Geographic Sciences Urban Planning
Program and has won several awards including the
prestigious Honour Award of Excellence from the
Canadian Institute of Planners (CIP) for a community
planning project.
Kevin in January of this year completed an eight
month contract with the Halifax 2014 Commonwealth
Games Bid Society as Director of Venues and
Operational Planning. In this position he was a
member of the Bid Committee and responsible for
managing and leading the Capital Budget for the
Games Bid. This involved the costing, locating and
designing of all proposed facilities. He is
currently President of the Urban Development
Institute of Nova Scotia which represents the
Development Community in Nova Scotia and was just
appointed as Chairman of UDI Canada which represents
the Development Industry across Canada.
Kevin
is a results oriented leader with a talent for discovering
opportunities, averting major problems and leveraging competitive
advantages. His outstanding organizational skills, ability
to see the ‘bigger picture’ and experience in
all facets of land development, provides his clients with
a great opportunity to achieve their land development goals.

Community and helping out those less fortunate. He
